Best of all...the invitations have been mailed out!!!!! I am going to do a whole post on those next week when I know that everyone has received them.
Something I opted to do a little differently was to set-up an online RSVP thru our wedding website. For one it saves money on the extra postage needed to mail back an RSVP card and second, after talking with some of my friends who just recently got married, a lot of people don't mail back the enclosed RSVP cards and even worse some people RSVP and then don't even show up. With the online system, guests have the option to update their RSVP response at any time. Plus, so many of us are on our computers or phones for the majority of the day that online RSVP-ing is SO convenient.
Although we do have a few guests that are a little old fashioned (or don't own a computer) so I did make up an RSVP post card that they could mail back. I only did these for about a 1/4 of the guests and since I did my own invitation suite it was really easy to just alter it a bit.
The BEST part of the online RSVP system is the instant gratification! I mailed the invitations on Monday morning about 11:00, I even carried them into the post office-I just couldn't dare drop them in that box with who knows what, and guests started receiving their invitations the very next day. Some had even RSVP'd as soon as they received them! I love watching that little attending number go up or receiving an e-mail that someone has responded. No waiting once a day for the mail to run.

Moving right along...
We also had our first pre-marital counseling meeting with the Pastor who will be performing our ceremony. It went very well and I'm glad I can mark that off our to-do list. Without an officiant we can't really get married can we?
And please say a prayer that we get to take our engagement pictures on Saturday! Third time is a charm :) We've had to reschedule twice due to unforseen circumstances and since we are getting down to the wire, I'm anxious to get them done. I know they will turn out fabulous since we have the most awesome photographer!
I'm meeting with my Aunt tomorrow for my first "dress fitting." It's not your typical dress fitting since I didn't get my dress at a typical dress shop. It's been at my Mom's since the day I bought it where I could try it on anytime I wanted! But the bust area has never fit and I could probably wear 5 bras and it still wouldn't so she is going to take it in a little up top. She is awesome by the way, she's also the one making my garter.
Our cake topper also came in this week and it's perfect!
All that's left is to order the flowers which we should be taking care of next weekend.
In the next month, I still have a lot of little things left to do.
- all tuxes ordered - we are only lacking two
- finish music selections - 85% done
- order flowers
- order labels for water bottles and bubbles
- put together the exit favors
- finalize the ceremony order
- prepare and cut programs(print when ceremony order is finalized)
- start working on wood signs for various parts of ceremony & reception
