Rant

This post is long and whiney. If you don't want to read my pointless whining then you have been warned and feel free to back away now. I feel the need to rant tonight. Why? Because it's my party blog and I'll cry rant if I want to.

Toilet is leaking, light fixture is blowing thru 5 year bulbs like no other, laundry is over flowing, the weeds are going to take over, the dust is never ending, the piles of crap go on forever, the half finished projects aren't going to finish themselves, and I have a wedding to plan.

I know without a shadow of a doubt how blessed and fortunate I am that we have a roof over our heads, electricity, clothes on our backs, a yard to tend to, furniture to dust, crap stuff, hobbies, and parents that are gracious enough to want to host a wedding for us.

But...

What started as a hissing sound from the toilet turned into a running non-stop (even with the water "off") toilet which is now in mid-repair and still slowly leaking. Bless Mr. Dalton's heart, he's trying so this is in no way directed towards you hunny. My biggest concern is the linoleum (that I hate anyways) is starting to bubble which means we are now going to have to replace it (probably with more linoleum-see wedding posts for further reasons why). I picked up a small piece and yep there is moisture under there which means eventually mold if we don't fix it. And let me just add, neither I or nor Mr. Dalton have ever owned a home or taken interest in the maintenance of previous homes so we had no idea that a "hissing" toilet could turn into this. They should really have a class for "noises to be aware of because they could turn into bigger problems."

While we haven't investigated the light fixture issue too heavily since the problem seems to have started over the last week or so (much like the toilet). We replaced the previous bulbs which were only 2 months old, maybe, just last week. And tonight, dead. PROBLEM! Those bulbs aren't cheap either. I googled the problem, which I google everything, and there are about 10 different things that could be causing aforementioned problem. Great!

I feel like, no wait, I know I did like 10 5 loads of laundry last week. It's just us three living here and we aren't two outfit a day kinda people so geez where the hell did all these dirty clothes come from?!? And there are dirty clothes in EVERY room of the house (thank goodness our house isn't that big). And now comes the problem of putting up all this clean laundry. I hate it. I despise it. Where is Mary Poppins when I need her? I think I have like 4 different piles of clean laundry that need to be put away right now (I did lay them out neatly and some of them are folded to prevent wrinkles, ie lazy but not too lazy).

I need to get started pulling weeds ASAP. When Mr. Dalton bought this house just a few years ago the previous owner happened to be a professional landscaper. We are not. And keeping up with 7 flower beds is no easy task. Last year we hired someone to weed the flower beds and mulch them, but the bargain price we got was followed by bargain workmanship. Basically he used a weed eater to rid the weeds instead of pulling them roots and all out of the ground. This year I wanted to somewhat beautify our flower beds with just a few low maintenance perennials and some mulch. But just pulling weeds is an all day job which I can't ever seem to find a whole day to get done.

Mr. Dalton dusted the living room on Friday afternoon and already today it just looks horrendous. We need some curtains in there B.A.D.

I have too many things I've bought for the "wedding", too much that I need to move into the yard sale pile, I cleaned out my car (yikes), and I cleaned out Eva's drawers and I need to move that stuff to my mother's house. There is just so much stuff. As soon as I get one pile cleared, up pops another one.

The half finished projects (that I'm happy to do) that I needed to finish yesterday still aren't done. I need to get them done so I can get started on wedding stuff. I'm such a procrastinator. Especially since the paper came in today for my wedding invitations (that I'm DIYing) and I'm determined to get them out by April 7th. Which means I don't have much time.

Speaking of time my schedule for the next few weeks is pretty packed. Tomorrow I need to run by my FMIL house to make use of her steamer to steam out the wrinkles for the bridesmaids dress I'm wearing in a wedding Friday (so excited Joelle!!) which means a rehearsal dinner Thursday night. Another bachelorette party Saturday night and a wedding next weekend and engagement pictures the weekend after. Please don't get me wrong I would much rather do the fun things and I'm so glad these lovely ladies thought to invite me to their soirees, I'm just overwhelmed.

But everything will get done in due time. I'm not superwoman and there is no way in Hades I'm gonna try now. I just have to take it one day and one task at a time.

Ugh sorry this post is so long. I needed this though. B.A.D.
