Random Wednesday

I had EVERY intention of posting about my manic Monday and/or Tuesday but...I never could seem to find the time. It's been a pretty manic Wednesday but that doesn't really rhyme.

It all started this morning...although I couldn't really find exactly what I wanted to wear I managed to put together a half decent ensemble. But even in my decent outfit I just felt cute today! I guess it was because I had on heels and I rarely ever wear them anymore. I used to work at a boutique ladies shoe store so I have a ton of heels but ever since I severely sprained my ankle almost 2 years ago I just can't wear them like I used to.

I was so completely busy at work today since it's the end of the month but I love it that way. The day seemed to fly by, and I'm so thankful Hump Day is over!

Instead of going straight to cooking dinner yesterday when we got home I postponed it so Eva could have a few minutes on the moon bounce we rented for her birthday party, it's still here so why shouldn't she enjoy it! After dinner we played with her new Barbie dreamhouse and opened a few more of her other gifts!

I'm so excited about this weekend. Friday night Mr. Dalton agreed to go see The Help with me which is pretty huge for two reasons. 1) we have only ever seen one movie together in theaters in our almost 2 years together and 2) it's kinda a girl movie. But I'm excited since I started and finished the book on our vacation! Saturday I will be watching College Football ALL day and I'm so thankful I have NO other plans! And Sunday is mine and Mr. Dalton's 2 year anniversary! We are planning on keeping it pretty low-key which I couldn't be happier about. And of course since Monday is a holiday I'll be at home! I don't always get every holiday off because of the line of work I'm in(that sounds so shady, but I work at a car dealership) so I'm even more thrilled to have off Monday.

One month from tomorrow my BFF/MOH, B and her hubby, K will be revealing the sex of their Bun in the oven! I'm so freakin excited! I have known my bff for over 10 years and I got to be apart of her wedding last year(where she married Mr. Dalton's cousin) and so I'm so thrilled to see her and K become parents! They are having a revealment party so it's going to be a surprise to everyone and for the record I'm Team Pink!

I really want to get back on the wedding planning track! I need to schedule our engagement pictures with our fantastic photographers! And I need to start designing our save the dates and invitations! I have found some really cute STD's on etsy.com but I'm thinking I will have to custom design the invites. I also think Mr. Dalton and I have picked a first dance song! And he picked it out which I think makes it that much more special. A little over 10 more months!!!

I'm out of Popsicles and it's killing me. I've developed an addiction to Bomb Pop Popsicles, mostly because they only have 40 calories per Popsicle. It's my semi-guilty pleasure.

I'm placing another order on erincondren.com on Friday and I'm so excited. I've got two very important birthdays coming up that I need gifts for and of course a little something for myself!

Did I say I'm ready for some college football this weekend? Woo Pig Sooie!

Happy Birthday Eva Lucille

Today's post is a little picture heavy but I have good reason, I promise! This past Saturday, on August 27th I celebrated the birth of my sweet little princess Eva Lucille. I still can't believe she turned FOUR! Today I'm taking a walk down memory lane.

This was the first picture taken of my sweet baby, the day I found out I would be having a princess
.
Please, please ignore how awful I look, this was 9 days before Eva was born and it was CRAZY HOT outside, and the polka dots definitely didn't help.

My beautiful, healthy girl made her arrival on August 27, 2007 at 3:11pm weighing 8lbs 6oz and 21 1/2 in long.

This has ALWAYS been one of my favorite pictures, this is also the picture we used for her birth announcement.

2007 was definitely the year of the baby in our family. This picture includes my Aunt and cousin Miller who is 5 months older than Eva, Me and Eva when she was exactly 1 month old, and my Mom and niece when she was 1 day old. My cousin also had a little boy 20 days before Eva. It was definitely fun all being pregnant at the same time.

This picture is from Eva's baptism when she was about 6 weeks old. She was baptized in Pennsylvania where her Dad's family is from. The church where she was baptized has a lot of meaning on her Dad's side, it was the church where her grandparents were married and both her Dad and Aunt Brooke were also baptized there. And the dress she was wearing was the same dress her Mimi Mercer and Aunt Brooke wore at their baptisms. It was a very special day.

When Eva was about 9 months old we made a trip to Tampa, FL to visit her Aunt Brooke and newest cousin Kaylee. It was also Eva's 1st trip to the beach.

Eva's 1st Birthday party!

This is one of Eva's 1st Birthday pictures.

This was Eva's very first day at daycare. She still attends the same daycare/preschool and we couldn't love it more.

Eva Diva hanging out at Mimi and Papa's house.

Me and my sweet girl at my cousin's college graduation party.

This is one of Eva's 2 year old pictures.

This is one of Eva's 4th Birthday pictures. Gosh how she's grown up!!

Dear Eva,

I thought I could never love you more than I did the day you were born. Boy was I wrong! I miss the days when I could just hold you and stare at you for hours but I absolutely love laughing with you, talking to you, and watching you grow up before my very eyes. You are so funny and so vivacious. You are the best share bear, you are so kind, and the best mix of a cuddle bug and independent girl. I look at you every day and hope that I'm doing a good job as your mommy and then you do something or say something that lets me know the answer. I love you to pieces Eva Lucille!

Love,
Mommy

Florida Vacation Recap

Ahh my wonderful vacation is over. So sad to say.

But we such a great week, so relaxing and easy. So easy I barely took any pictures. We mostly just laid around on the beach and trust me no one wants to see pictures of that. But I'll give you a recap of our activities for the week which didn't exactly start off on the right foot.

Friday-I got off work and started packing. We headed to Mr. Dalton's Dad's house since we were staying there so we could leave bright and early Saturday morning. Well.. Friday night after doing a quick check on the Tahoe, Mr. Dalton's Dad noticed a leak. Well come to find out we wouldn't be able to take the Tahoe to FL.

Saturday-Since the Tahoe was a no go and we really didn't have any other options we had to wait for the car rental places to open up at 9am. Bummer. Already 5 hours behind schedule. We finally got on the road 7 hours later than our orginal time which put us in Destin after dark. We arrived in Miramar Beach about 8:30 and just ordered a pizza. We were all so exhausted.

Sunday-Since it was tax free weekend in FL and knew I wanted to get some shopping done, they dropped me off at the Silver Sands Outlet Mall while they went grocery shopping. I ended up with two bags full from the Gap outlet and from J Crew. All work clothes, which I desperately needed. We got back to the condo and hit the beach. I don't know if I was just really exhausted or had a few too many(probably a little of both) but I went in to take a "nap" about four and didn't wake up till midnight. Then fell back asleep till 6:30am.

Monday-Mr. Dalton woke me up at 6:30am which I promise I never wake up that early, even to go to work. We headed into Destin just to drive around. We ended up at Harborwalk Village so we walked around the docks. We drove back to the condo to take up the beach again. I ended up getting a little too much sun. It kinda hurt for a day or so. We went to Buster's Bar and Grill for dinner. It was still pretty early and there was next to no one there but their food was pretty good.

Tuesday-We got up and lounged around a bit. We headed to Baytowne Village and Wharf about 10ish to take a walk around and see the huge yachts. We got some yummy frozen drinks at Fat Tuesday's, I visited a few shops, then we had lunch at the Acme Oyster House which was so good. Mr. Dalton, his Dad and Step-Mom couldn't get enough of the oysters although I'm not a fan so I had a hamburger and some of Mr. Dalton's fried shrimp he ordered. We headed back to the condo so we could beach it a little while longer, although I mostly stayed under the canopy where the shade was. I had to run to the Destin Commons mall to get a new book since I finished The Help (which I LOVED) and ultimately decided on Love the One Your With by Emily Giffin. We grilled out some steaks and chicken for dinner then hit the hay.

Wednesday-We started the day with a little breakfast at Another Broken Egg Cafe which was really good even though I'm far from a breakfast person. We beached it up the rest of the day then Mr. Dalton and I headed to The Crab Trap for dinner since it was only a few minutes from the condo. The food was good, nothing super special.

Thursday-We started Thursday on the beach, I knew our vacay was on the downward slope and wanted to get in as much beach time as I could and we had the most amazing weather and clear water ALL week, it couldn't have been any better. We had tacos and leftovers for dinner, relaxed and watched Jersey Shore then off to bed.

Friday-We sat on the beach and sat on the beach some more. I did have to run back to the outlet mall to exchange something I bought for Miss Eva then I headed back to the bookstore since I finished Love the One Your With which I loved too especially since the two main characters reminded me so much of my bestie and I! I decided to buy a couple of books and picked up the first four books in the Pretty Little Liars series. I absolutely love the TV show and I'm so glad I picked these books up.

For dinner I knew we had to visit The Red Bar in Grayton Beach. And even though there was an hour and a half wait it was sooooo worth it. Our service once we were seated was very good and since they only had 7 things on the menu they are able to get the food out pretty quickly. Mr. Dalton's dad had the fish of the day which was Grouper, Mr. Dalton's step-mom ordered the Baked Eggplant, it was so good even though I've never had eggplant before. Mr. Dalton ordered the Mahi-Mahi which was so amazingly good and I had the crab cakes. I love crab cakes, like really really love crab cakes and these were probably the 2nd best I've ever had(the first being the spicy crab cakes at Sekisui Pacific Rim here in Memphis) but I will say they had more crab meat than any I've ever had. Overall the food was outstanding!

Saturday-We drove back to Memphis. Blah! (I'm really glad I ended up buying the 4 books since I finished the first one on the drive and the whole 2nd book before we got back to Memphis)

Today was a wonderful family day. Mr. Dalton and I unpacked and thankfully I finished all the laundry. I even got to take a nap today which was divine. After I woke up Mr. Dalton, Eva, and I headed to the grocery store. I made spaghetti, corn on the cob, green beans, and garlic bread for dinner then we each had our favorite deserts. A little relaxing on the patio and a movie on the couch with Mr. Dalton. It has been such a great week and I hate that I have to go back to work tomorrow but that is life.

I'll do it tomorrow

That's what I've been telling myself all week. And that's what I'm telling myself right now while I sit and catch up on Big Brother. I did get Miss Eva's stuff packed, I really had no choice there since she's going to stay with Mimi while we are away. I think I over packed a little, ok a lot! But in all fairness her bags are pretty small.
This is as much as I got done. I will finish tomorrow once Mr. Dalton gets his stuff together since we are sharing a suitcase and I'd rather pack it all together.
I did get to go get a mani/pedi this afternoon. I went with the shellac so I can count on it not chipping all week. The color is either Tutti Fruitti or Hot Pop Pink, I can't remember.

My Erin Condren life planner should arrive tomorrow! I'm sooooo freakin excited! Well BB is over so I must get my butt in bed. Only 8 more working hours till my vacation begins,it's been 5 years since I've had a relaxing vacation and I'm way over due.

Goodnight y'all

Manic Monday

Another Monday down! This time next week I'll be relaxing on the beach. Ahhh!

I was so busy at work today it just flew by which couldn't have been better. I have a ton more to do to get prepared for next week. But hopefully the rest of the week will fly by just as quickly as it did today.

I had every intention of mailing Eva's birthday invitations today BUT I forgot to buy more envelopes. Darnit.

I need to clean the entire house this week before we leave on top of packing and getting a much needed mani/pedi. We have someone house sitting and even though she is family I definitely do not want our house to look unkempt. I did manage to get all the laundry done this week which is such a relief. I made a to do list last night and it's a little overwhelming to look at.

I haven't been on vacation in 5 years and I've never stayed in a condo so I googled packing checklist but wasn't able to find anything that didn't give the obvious. So should I feel the need I will certainly post a packing list AFTER the trip. I hope that we get to take these trips every year if not every other year.

I did find out today that Florida's tax free holiday is this weekend. WooHoo! I think my shopping day will definitely have to be Sunday. I really, really wanted to pick up a new Michael Kors bag at the outlet BUT I'm thinking I'll just save that money and maybe get an iPad 2 even though Mr. Dalton said I really needed to wait until Christmas. I've never been a patient person.

Bedtime has been extremely difficult tonight for some reason. Very difficult. And I think I still hear someone playing in their room. (I can't get too mad, I did the same thing at her age.)
I hope everyone had a great Monday! Does anyone have anything they always forget to take on vacation? Or something I might need in the condo that I could be forgetting?

Weekend Recap

We had a pretty uneventful weekend around these parts, which I couldn't have enjoyed more! Friday night Mr. Dalton and I had Chinese for dinner then had to go pick up Miss Diva's birthday present from Wal-Mart, I do love site to store ordering since it was quite the large gift(that they don't carry in store) and it would have cost a fortune to ship. It's hiding at Nana's house so she won't find it before the big day. Saturday day we had a birthday party to go to at the bowling alley, which Eva always loves. My cousin's little boy was born 20 days before Eva and as big as I think Eva is for her age, Jeremiah is bigger!
Me and my sweet girl!

And being silly!

Eva and the birthday boy Jeremiah!

She is quite the funny little one!

And a little quirky.

She was tuckered after the party and fell asleep with her "Billy Bob" teeth that she found in her goody bag.

Today was the perfect lazy Sunday. We got up and had our usual Sunday breakfast while I read the engagement section of the newspaper then ran to Lowe's and back home to lay around all day.

Only 5 more working days till our vacation! I'm beyond ready even though I know I have a ton to do before we leave especially since Eva's party is a week after we get back. So much to do and hopefully I'll have my Erin Condren Life Planner before we leave so I'll have something to keep me busy on the 9 hour drive to Destin.

Messy, Crazy, Manic Monday

It was Monday all right and the end of the month at that. I don't think it really matters what industry you work in, the end of the month is hard to avoid and it's always a little crazy on my end. It's a good thing that I like to be busy doing 10 things at one time, at least at work anyways. At home...

...especially on Mondays...is my tv night, which means I do the minimum amount necessary. I love watching The Bachelorette, even though I read the spoilers I still love to see it break down...even though I know it's not real.

I read a ton of blogs which started as mostly reading wedding blogs and Kelly's Korner Blog which lead to another blog, then another, then another. I've cut out a few of the weddings blogs mostly because I can only take so much inspiration before I start to doubt my own ideas. But I absolutely love reading a select few other blogs about other mommies, other brides, newlyweds, and DIY(mixed with new mommies/parents/newlyweds). Well I read these blogs and most of the time I don't comment, I know I should I'm just not at the point where I feel that comfortable. Anyyyywayyyssss...there is a point I promise.

I was reading A Wedding Story this morning and she happened to mention an amazing home organization and cleaning schedule via Just Mommies. Just because I have a four three year old in no way means that I have this whole wifey/mommy/homemaker thing figured out. Especially since I've never been a wifey. I've never had to take care of a home and sometimes it's very overwhelming so I'm so happy I have an extra tool that breaks it down day by day.

I also CAN NOT wait to get my Erin Condren Life Planner in the mail. Everyday I think of more and more things that I need to write down in it, including my day by day, week by week, and month by month cleaning and organizing schedule.

I just ordered Miss Eva's FOURTH birthday party invitations! I really can't believe she's going to be F-O-U-R years old. But I'm so excited for her party with our close family and friends, we have quite a few kiddies in our family so it should be fun. Once I get them printed and sent out I will certainly put them up here!

My summer vacation is getting closer and closer.....I'm so excited and ready!

I got in a Ballard catalog today. OMG! I could go broke furnishing my house from that catalog, although they do have some things that are budget friendly. Hopefully I can show Mr. Dalton the area rugs that I love for our living room.

Hope you all had a fabulous Monday and cheers to an even better Tuesday!
