But honestly...I'm very nonchalant about the whole wedding planning process. Which to me is actually kinda strange because before we got engaged I could imagine my wedding day very vividly. The day I got engaged that all went out the window. Every thought I had suddenly changed and I could picture MY wedding day, the day that I will walk down the aisle arm in arm with my Dad to the man I will love and cherish and spend the rest of my life with. Ahh!!! It was like once I was engaged the dreaming turned into a reality and I just knew what our day would be like.
We of course have had many conversions on the what we want the "feel" of our wedding to be. We don't want stuffy and fru-fru, we want people to have a good time, dance, and generally remember our day. I would rather have tons of personal touches than thousands of dollars worth of flowers.
We have just over 8 more months till Wed Day and I know once Christmas comes and goes we will only have 5 more months so I need to get moving. As far as vendors, I only need to nail down a DJ. But I have a couple of ideas for personal touches that I would like to incorporate which are all DIY so I would rather start on those things sooner rather than later. I HAVE to nail down the bridesmaids dresses and get the girls fitted before my MOH pops! And the biggest to-do on my list in the invites, which I'm hoping to custom design. Eek! We will see how that goes.
I wanted to share a few of my inspirational photos. I look at these whenever I need a reminder of the look I'm going for, or things I need to put on the shopping list.
I love this idea instead of a "first look"
The DIY details will be revealed in due time. I just hope I can start tackling the DIY to-do list so I'm not majorly stressed too close to the wedding. Stress=blemishes and despite the fact that my Mom works for the best dermatologist in Memphis I would rather not have to need it. ya know!
I do have to point out the pre-wedding season is in full swing. My calendar is pretty packed these days (which I'm not complaining about in the least). Last Saturday I attended a bridal shower for my friend Alicia, I have known this lovely lady since middle school and now we live pretty close to one another! She's actually getting married in like 3 weeks..oops I looked at the calendar...it's only 2 weeks away!! I can't wait for your big day Alicia & Austin!
Although not wedding related my BFF/MOH and her hubby/Mr. Dalton's cousin are having their Gender Revealment party next weekend and I can't wait to find out if Bun is a boy or girl!! The following weekend is Alicia's wedding then the very next day I'm co-hostessing a bridal shower for my friend Joelle. I've known Joelle since freshman year of high school and we have done a pretty awesome job at staying in touch for the past almost 8 years (gosh we are getting old). The next weekend I'll be attending my friends Lauren & Jacob's engagement party! I've only known Lauren for two years or so and I went to high school with her fiance but I've known two of her cousins since I was like 7 and another one of her cousins does my hair now! Small world!
I'm definitely looking forward to all the upcoming events. I've reached that age when so many of us are either getting married or having a baby. Speaking of babies (I swear a new announcement pops up on facebook daily...Congrats to all the expecting Mommies) we also found out Mr. Dalton's brother and sister-in-law are expecting #2! I'm so excited to have another niece(or nephew) to love on. Congrats J&S and baby Chase!!!
